Action comedy directed by and starring Seth Rogen. When talk show
host Dave Skylark (James Franco) and his producer Aaron Rapaport
(Rogen) celebrate their 1000th episode of 'Skylark Tonight' Aaron
voices his concerns over the seemingly trivial content of their
programme. When they are informed that the President of North Korea
Kim Jong-un (Randall Park) is a fan of the show they prepare
themselves for the interview of their lives. Before they can board
the plane however, CIA Agent Lacey (Lizzy Caplan) knocks on their
door requesting their assistance in a current operation that aims
to assassinate Kim Jong-un. When they get to North Korea will Dave
and Aaron be able to simply ask their questions or will the thrill
of being set an assignment by the CIA be too much to resist?

Pan'gye surok (or "Pan'gye's Random Jottings") was written by the
Korean scholar and social critic Yu Hyongwon(1622-1673), who
proposed to reform the Joseon dynasty and realise an ideal
Confucian society. It was recognised as a leading work of political
science by Yu's contemporaries and continues to be a key text in
understanding the intellectual culture of the late Joseon period.
Yu describes the problems of the political and social realities of
17th Century Korea, reporting on his attempts to solve these
problems using a Confucian philosophical approach. In doing so, he
establishes most of the key terminology relating to politics and
society in Korea in the late Joseon. His writings were used as a
model for reforms within Korea over the following centuries,
inspiring social pioneers like Yi Ik and Chong Yakyong. Pan'gye
surok demonstrates how Confucian thought spread outside China and
how it was modified to fit the situation on the Korean peninsula.
Providing both the first English translation of the full
Pan'gyesurok text as well as glossaries, notes and research papers
on the importance of the text, this four volume set is an essential
resource for international scholars of Korean and East Asian
history.

The intimate and uplifting memoir from one of Britain's most loved
singers - this is Alfie, off stage. Bringing his characteristic
sense of cheeky humour to the page, in this heartfelt book Alfie
describes for the first time the highs and lows of over a decade
singing and performing across the world. From personal dinners with
Queen Elizabeth II and following in the steps of King of Rock 'n'
Roll Elvis in Vegas to mischievous antics with Michael Ball,
Alfie's book takes us backstage to witness his brilliant career
memories. But this book is also a heartfelt insight to Alfie's
unmasked truth for the first time ever. His unflinching honesty
reveals not only the success stories, but also the pressures and
how, through challenging times, he learned more about himself than
he ever thought possible. Laying bare the events that have shaped
Alfie into the performer he is today, Face the Music demonstrates
to us all that it's not our mistakes that define us - but instead,
how we choose to come back from them.

All 10 episodes of the Danish domestic drama series created by Maya
Ilsøe. When Veronika Grønnegaard (Kirsten Olesen) leaves the whole
of her estate to Signe (Marie Bach Hansen), the daughter she gave
up for adoption, when she dies, her four other children are shocked
by the decision. As they then attempt to divide the estate up, a
number of home truths come out into the open which threaten to
change their understanding of their upbringing and themselves.
A more accessible approach than most competitor texts, which move
into advanced, research-level topics too quickly for today's
students. Part I is comprehensive in providing all necessary
mathematical underpinning, particularly for those who need more
opportunity to develop their mathematical competence. More
confident students may move directly to Part II and dip back into
Part I as a reference. Ideal for use as an introductory text for
courses in quantum computing. Fully worked examples illustrate the
application of mathematical techniques. Exercises throughout
develop concepts and enhance understanding. End-of-chapter
exercises offer more practice in developing a secure foundation.

This book investigates the politics embedded in the Korean-language
textbooks utilised between 1895 and 2019, within the context of one
Korea (pre-colonial and colonial eras), the divided Koreas, and an
ethnic Korean group residing in Japan (Chongryon). By analysing the
inclusions and omissions from Korean-language the author
successfully highlights the impact of Korean politics, making clear
how rulers have attempted to control their citizens and legitimize
their rule by using primary school Korean-language textbooks as a
medium for political education and inculcation. It succinctly
displays how different visions of ‘ideal citizenship’ have been
presented in Korea and traces the resulting shift in views towards
neighbouring nations as a result, identifying how different rival
countries were demonized at different times. This chapter also
shows some consistent omissions, such as the lower classes and
marginalized individuals within their respective nations.
Presenting recommendations for potential improvements of the
content of future textbooks this study will be of interest to
students of Asian Studies, Post-colonial Studies, Critical
Curriculum Studies, Critical Discourse Studies, and Korean Studies.
In the past, boundary conditions in the building of dams have
changed, as technological developments have been influential on dam
planning, construction, operation and maintenance processes. It is
ICOLD's mission to not only consider these developments but also
adequately deal with environmental aspects and related
infrastructure issues. Altered water cycles, more extreme weather
conditions and an increasing number of natural hazards clearly
affect the safe and economical operation of dams and reservoirs.
Moreover, emission-free hydropower production as the most important
form of "liquid" solar energy and the provision of water for
irrigation and potable water supply is becoming more and more
important to meet the world's fast growing demand for energy and
food in a sustainable way. Dams and Reservoirs Under Changing
Challenges covers subjects ranging from dam engineering through the
benefits and drawbacks of dams, including the latest developments
dealing with dams and reservoirs under changing environmental and
socioeconomic conditions. It is a valuable resource for
professional and dam engineers, water manager, governmental
organizations and commercial consultants responsible for dam design
and management.
Like a long, funny letter from an old friend, an album of drawings
by the legendary singer and activist for social justice, Joan Baez.
Since retiring from active performing, Baez has focused her
formidable talents on painting and drawing. This collection of
drawings shows another side of Baez: lovingly loose and charming
sketches on reoccurring themes such as politics, relationships,
women, animals, and family. Each section, organized thematically,
includes an introductory piece by the artist. Baez approaches her
line drawings as exercises in freedom: she begins drawing upside
down—often using her non-dominant hand—without any preconceived
notion of where the lines might lead her. Beginning with her
seminal debut album in 1960, Baez has been a musical force of
nature of incalculable influence whose earliest recordings fed a
host of traditional ballads into the rock vernacular. In 1963, she
introduced Bob Dylan to the world, beginning a tradition of mutual
mentoring that continued across her many recordings. As a lifetime
advocate for non-violent social change, she marched on the front
line of the civil rights movement with Martin Luther King Jr.,
shined a spotlight on the Free Speech Movement, took to the fields
with Cesar Chavez, organized resistance to the Vietnam War, and
inspired Vaclav Havel in his fight for a Czech Republic. Am I
Pretty When I Fly? reveals yet another side of a beloved icon.

This collection introduces an innovative micro-analytical approach
to interaction management in remote interpreting, offering new
insights into our understanding of the conversational dynamics of
remote dialogue interpreting. The book calls attention to the need
for greater reflection on the impact of the increased use of remote
interpreting via telephone and video link, particularly in light of
the COVID-19 pandemic, on the already complex interactional
dynamics of communication in dialogue interpreting settings.
Featuring perspectives from both established and emerging scholars,
the volume explores both the signals and mechanisms of interaction
management and the effects of context in such settings. Chapters
draw on empirical studies based on experimental and authentic data
from video recordings and eye-tracking data to examine the impact
on smoothness and synchronization of the interaction in remote
interpreting, in light of the absence of multimodal resources such
as gaze and gesture. In collecting this research in a single
volume, the book paves the way for further research on the changing
relationships between interaction management, technology, and
multimodality in dialogue interpreting contexts in today’s
increasingly technology-mediated world. This volume will be of
interest to students and scholars in interpreting studies, language
and communication, and pragmatics.
